- By Spam E-Mail, Unknown files attached with an email,
- Infected Computer software and unauthorized software/application patches/MODs,
- Web Browser redirection to Malicious websites,
- Bad/Malware attached Web Advertisements etc.
HOW TO PREVENT RANSOMWARE ATTACK?
- Do not open unknown eMails and never ever download any attached suspicious files like PDF, DOCX, XLSX, RAR, ZIP, PPT etc to your PC/Mobile.
- Do not visit porn sites and free downloading spam websites.
- Do not download unknown files/softwares/apk from any website except authorized websites/playstore.
- Download latest update patches for your current Operating System.
- Upgrade Windows XP to Windows 7, 8 or 10.
- Disable "Macros" function on MS Office suite.
- Install best AntiMalware / AntiVirus software. Updates them daily.
- Backup your all important data as soon as possible to an external harddisk or to a DVD Disk or to any Cloud based online storage like Google Drive and Dropbox.
- Disable/Block "Server Message Block (SMB)" in Windows Firewall.
- Doubles scan external memory card/pen drives before opening them.
